Why a local printer beats an overseas one
Ordering a print from offshore means a long wait, customs, and a price in someone else's currency. We print in Tauranga and courier NZ-wide, so it arrives in days, the price is in NZD, and if something isn't right you're dealing with the person who made it.
Every print is inspected by hand before it's boxed. If we can't make it well, we refund you rather than ship it.

Do you offer 3D printing in Tauranga?
Yes - PartDrop is a one-maker workshop in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. Every print is made here and hand-checked before it ships. We're an online service rather than a walk-in shop, so you order through the site and we courier it to you anywhere in New Zealand, Tauranga included.
Can I send you my own 3D file to print?
Yes. Upload an STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB or PLY file and we print it as-is. You'll see the exact NZD price for your actual model before you pay - it's calculated from the real size and how much material it uses, not a guess.
What if I don't have a 3D file?
Then send a photo instead. Upload one clear photo of the object, person or pet and our 3D engine builds a printable model from it. Making each 3D model uses generation credits - signing up covers your first 4 models free, then credit packs start at $12. The size price is for the print itself, and nothing is printed until you approve the model.
How much does 3D printing cost in New Zealand?
Ours is priced by size. Shipping is added at checkout and depends on where it's going. Small prints start at $11, the popular mid size is $23–41, larger pieces are $41–66 and our biggest are $66–102. Within a size, a chunkier object costs more than a slender one because it uses more material and more printer time. Multi-colour prints add a surcharge - your exact price is always shown before you pay.
Can I get something 3D printed without owning a printer?
Yes - that's exactly what we're for. You don't need a printer, software or any 3D experience: upload a 3D file (or just a photo, and we build the model for you), approve the preview and the exact NZD price, and we print it in Tauranga and courier it to you. Finished prints start at $11.
How big can you print?
Up to 245mm (about 24.5cm) in any direction - the full build plate. Anything from a keyring up to a substantial centrepiece. If a shape is too large or too heavy to print reliably at that size, we'll tell you before you pay rather than after.
What materials can you print in?
Every online order prints in standard PLA, which suits keepsakes, figurines and display pieces. For a part that needs to do a job we can also print PETG (tough and water-resistant), ASA (outdoor and UV-stable), PC (high-heat and strong) or TPU (flexible) - email us and we'll quote it by hand.
How long does a 3D print take to arrive in NZ?
Everything is made to order, so your part is printed after you approve it, then couriered. Because we print in New Zealand there's no overseas shipping wait and no customs - it arrives in days rather than the weeks an offshore service takes. If you have a deadline, message us first and we'll confirm what's possible.
Do you print in colour?
Every print is one solid filament colour of your choice from eight - Warm White, Matte Black, Sunflower Yellow, Sky Blue, Navy Blue, Forest Green, Crimson Red and Walnut Brown. You can also add colour bands in the editor for a multi-colour piece, which adds a surcharge.
